About PromptedDev

PromptedDev is written by Grant M., a developer with hands-on IBM i and full-stack experience. The site exists because most AI tool coverage is written by people who have never shipped code with these tools.

Reviews here are based on actual use on real projects. Comparisons take a position. When a tool isn't worth paying for, that's what the review says. The goal is coverage that saves you time making a decision, not content that hedges until it says nothing.

The IBM i coverage is where PromptedDev has no competition. RPG IV, CL, DDS, DB2 for i, program documentation, knowledge transfer before retirements, modernization planning. This is the only publication covering how AI tools actually apply to that platform. If your shop is dealing with retirement risk or modernization pressure, this is written for you.
